Latoya Nelson is an educator with over 10 years experience teaching in NM, NC, DE, MD and GA. She has a wide variety of experience with rural and urban education as well as ,the pleasure to experience teaching prek-10th grades over the years. She has primarily worked as a middle school teacher and Special Educator. With a focus in Behavior Support and Autism classrooms. Latoya specializes in trauma informed care and healing centered classroom environments through literacy. In addition she coaches and guides educators on rehumanizing students and the use of conscious discipline in the classroom as a means to healing, restorative justice and equity. Latoya is a caretaker to many children over the years and resides presently a GA resident alongside her wife and 14 and 19 year old children.
