I hope you've all had a chance to recover from the fun we had during the GaETC Conferencein Atlanta. Both TIE Network bring your own laptop (BYOL) sessions were full, and we had 40 individuals attend the DeVry University-sponsored networking dinner held at Dave & Buster's in Marietta. Thank you to everyone who arrived early to help decorate so we could have a festive time! TIE Network members from the following areas were in attendance: Armstrong Atlantic State ETC: Bill Harris, LaQuita Hutchinson Chattahoochee-Flint RESA ETC: Kristi Richburg, Leigh Sadler Cherokee County: Clay Gunter, Laura Gunter Cobb County: Lucretia Turner Cook County: Ray Yody Douglas County: Pattie Morton First District ETC: Jeff Giddens, Daniel Rivera Forsyth County: Patti Grammens, Becky Hitch Fulton County: Jeanne Auensen, Ollye Davis, Mable Hurtault Georgia Public Broadcasting: Katherine Aiken, Scott Hennessy, Patrice Weaver, Meghan Welch Glynn County: Kathy Gilmer, Jenne Leppard, Stephanie Schuyler Gwinnett County: Jim Fincher Hall County: Marsha Baucom Harris County: Kathy Hall Pioneer ETC: Donna Smith Rome City Schools: Jeff Hargett Schley County: Louise Bosse, Michele Bush, Jamie Frost, Frances Heath Tift County: Susan Yody Troup County: Christina Grace, Pam Murphy Valdosta State ETC: Becky Crosby, Shirley Sainz Wayne County: Michael Stokes (The "one" who suggested Dave & Buster's as a fun place to have a social / professional networking event) The theme of the evening - because there always needs to be a theme - was Mexican Fiesta and we dined on a delicious fajita/nacho bar until the chips and tortillas ran out! While the Atlanta traffic delayed our start, that didn't keep us from meeting new people and making new friends. Thank you to the following "early birds" who arrived at 4:00 and helped us decorate the private room: Jim Fincher, Jeanne Auensen, Marsha Baucom, Scott Hennessy, Patrice Weaver and Meghan Welch. Jeanne Johnson-Whatley from DeVry University addressed the group during dinner. For the second year in a row, Stephanie Schuyler helped to create the CPS interactive game. Who knew how competitive TIE Network members could be?!?! At the end of the celebration, some folks decided to play games in the "grown-up" amusement park. But it is even better to meet new people in all different areas! The people, laughs, and food were great! I can't wait until the next event!!! BLAST |
