I saw this video for the first time during the 2008 TIE Network Summer Academy held in Decatur, GA, and I loved the clear explanation of the wiki. As an artist, I also enjoyed the simple illustrations and animation techniques.
In the future, I will begin any wiki workshop with this video so participants will have a clear "picture" of the way a wiki can be used.
According to video creator Lee LeFever, "We made this video because wiki web sites are easy to use, but hard to describe. We hope to turn you on to a better way to plan a camping trip, or create the next Wikipedia."
Lee and Sachi also have a site called The World Is Not Flatwhere they have posted some of the most beautiful photos and personal reflections recorded during their travels to 29 countries between December 2005 and January 2006.

, on 23-07-2008 20:52 How funny that Katherine just posted about wikis! I loved the video clip! I just shared my school's Georgia Book Award wiki on TIE's student-created resource page for writing. Pbwiki was so easy to use - we shared the password with students who read Georgia Book Award books last year, and they posted their responses on the wiki. I'm afraid I've deleted last year's site, and students won't begin to post until school begins. Wikis can provide an authentic vehicle for student writing and research. Thanks for the video, Katherine!
