Blog entry written by Becky Crosby - TIE Network Advisory Board Leader
You should be proud of the Valdosta State University ETTC . We planned a TIE event and workshop on June 12 and June 13. However, in case everyone does not yet know – Katherine took a fall and broke her foot on June 11. She was hosting the event on Thursday night – so we decided not to have it. We did manage to hold a fun and beneficial workshop on the 13th. All the participants were new to TIE. These folks had attended our VSU ETTC Summer Institute during the week, and this session was a culminating activity. Unfortunately for the group- we did not decorate as Katherine does. They did have snacks and goody bags. We shared TIE information, gave them the great freeloader CD from Jeff and Daniel; and worked with Photo Story. The group is now hooked on what great things can happen and do happen through TIE membership. They all have plans on how they will spread the word and want more events. We really missed Katherine’s presence and guidance, but made it through. She has taught us well. Hope the healing is going smoothly for her foot. Of course, she is not slowing down to let it heal. She worked last week with the Advisory Board and the first annual TIE Summer Academy. We look forward to the next TIE Network regional event in Valdosta!

3. Written by Pattie Morton, on 05-07-2008 21:32 Hey, Becky!! This was awesome that you all carried on with all our new TIE friends!!! You are right when you say \"Katherine taught us well\"! I really appreciate all your work in helping get the TIE news out and about. If each one of us teaches one and then they teach one the state of Georgie will be \"TIE\" green before too much longer!!! Thanks for update! Pattie |
4. The Tie Network Global Spirit for Change Written by Carlos Sutton, on 14-07-2008 11:41 The TIE spirit never ends. As Pattie said, each one of us should teach one another. I have already been smiling and walking around at my recent district level math conference telling colleagues about the TIE network. I kept stressing the free resources and wonderful unity that exists in the TIE network. |
