Here is it Friday at 6pm; our last lab day at DeVry and we've gone green on the brain. We've watched Mike's short draft movie commercial for the TIE NETWORK (it will be great to show to new people as an intro to everything TIE) and people are still uploading LOTS OF RESOURCES (see Cindy's great uploads under Professional Resources). Listen to this: now they are talking about making the Summer Institute eligible for PLU credits, statewide. Imagine being able to collaborate with ETTC and RESA people (in the room) to ask about this, learn how it's done, and set it in motion.
THAT's COLLABORATION with "added value" which is a term Jeff Giddens taught us. It refers to getting a delightful surprising extra along with whatever you're asking for (that's my definition, not Jeff's). This has been an incredible week. We've been given every opportunity to learn with the most amazing support/people/location/encouragement/time/resources. Our brains are full, green, engorged, and giggly.

Well you guys look great. It was a great week and the experiences were great. Love the idea of PLUs for the TIE Summer Academy. More teachers will be willing to give up some of their summers if they can receive PLUs, receive all the great training and resources, great food and hotels, and the information shared between those attending was nothing short of outstanding. |

, on 01-07-2008 12:13 Mike, Thank you for getting the TIE Network movie started, and I'm going to share the script with all of the other TIE Network Summer Academy participants in Google docs so we can all contribute to the overall message. I hope you and everyone else made it home safely, and I look forward to our next gathering. Tell Carolyn that we missed her! Katherine |
